Dan made up his mind a long time ago, issues between him and Jaekyung would never resolve. It is not because they don't trust each other, it is because they don't communicate. Did it ever stop Dan from loving Jaekyung? No..
Jaekyung had a terrible personality and was emotionally unavailable. But he was also the first person who made him feel safe. He was his first kiss, first love and first heartbreak. Jaekyung did all in his might to tie him down and put the same effort in pushing him away.
At times he wanted to escape this situation which was similar to being stuck in the middle of quicksand. Don’t move you die, move you die faster. Leaving him was never an option but staying with him felt like a punishment.
After a few months of clear rejection from Jaekyung, Dan was sure he had moved on and he was sure that he started to feel indifferent towards Jaekyung's taunts. But all those bitter feelings disappeared into thin air when he heard Jaekyung was critically injured. His legs were shaking and he felt like someone was crushing his heart. He ran until he reached the spot. It was then he realized he still loves Jaekyung.
He couldn't sleep until a team of doctors gave a report of his condition. Dan only wished for Jaekyung to recover and miraculously he woke up and started behaving like a love sick puppy.
Now, Jaekyung is making an effort to learn his likes and interests.Dan was on the verge of falling for him all over again. But he was also scared that if Jaekyung goes back to his previous self, will he be able to handle that?
Dan's face was glistening and the reflection of water on his face was adding to his beauty. He looked deep in thought as if he was struggling to say something.
“God.. this is so awkward..” Dan continued..“I know you want to relieve yourself..”
He stuttered a lot saying, “I could..I.. I want to help you..”
He couldn't look up, his heart was not strong enough to face this ‘New’ Jaekyung. He could hear his own heartbeat and it's not a good sign. That's how it was during the days he was madly in love with Jaekyung.
Jaekyung took Dan's hands into his. He locked his fingers with Dan's , he lifted Dan's hand and gently placed a peck on his knuckles.
Dan blushed so much that the flush reached his neck. Jaekyung pulled him closer and lifted his chin.
“ Do you mean it?”
Jaekyung's eyes were a bit red and moist full of Desire. Dan's never seen him like this before. Except that one time they made such passionate love he was drunk.
Dan furrowed his brow, “Why would I say it if I don't mean it?”
“No.. No..” Jaekyung swayed his head. “I want verbal consent. I don't want to assume things and I don't want to hurt you anymore. This is for me Dan, please tell me, Do you mean it?”
“I want to do it. I have been pent up too..” Dan looked away, “But this doesn't mean I am ready to be in a relationship with you.”
Dan was still in Jaekyung's arms and he couldn't bear it any longer too. He buried his head in Jaekyung's chiseled chest and hugged him. They barely hugged except during sex, Jaekyung felt the warmth spreading in his heart. Dan could hear Jaekyung's heart beating in the same rhythm as his. When he raised his head up the boxer eyes were brimming with tears.
“I told you not to take this seriously..” Dan wiped away those tears with his thumb. “You look so weird when you cry..” Dan's warm hands rested on his cold cheek caressing it so tenderly.
“See.. this is what I said.. think about yourself Kim Dan.” Jaekyung tried to put on a smug face to which Dan chuckled.“I have no idea you could be so sweet”
Jaekyung leaned his head down and planted a kiss on his cheek and very close to the lips.
“The pool water tastes weird..” Jaekyung pulled Dan closer, grinding their bottom halves slowly, earning a soft moan from Dan.
Dan wrapped his hands around Jaekyung's neck and whispered in his ear, “ Lets head to the bathroom and wash it off..”
Jaekyung nodded and tried to lift Dan up.
“You are f*cking kidding me!” Dan used swear words for the first time in front of him. Which honestly surprised both.. Dan covered his mouth with his hands.
“What were you trying to do.. you fool. You have an injury!”
“pfftt..” Jaekyung chuckled, “Aww Doc.. “ he pulled Dan's cheeks because he looked so cute and he said the same. “You are so cute when you yell at me. Do It often”
“In what world does a man in his thirties look cute?” Dan was not holding back today. He doesn't have any idea what caused this change in dynamics, but he loved it.
“How I wish you could see you through ny eyes..” Jaekyung retorted without delay.
“Stop watching old movies. For god sake! Your pick up lines are as awful as your cooking skills.” Dan chided the younger one while Jaekyung pouted.
Both walked towards the bathroom and shower was the first choice. A long soak in hot water would be wonderful but they were in a hurry.
Jaekyung trudged towards the shower and started kissing Dan. His hands feeling up the smooth skin on his waist, pulling him closer.
Jaekyung slipped in his tongue. It was desperate but not a rough kiss, Dan couldn't reach the shower gel which Jaekyung uses. The only thing he managed to do was to turn the shower on because Jaekyung was not letting him break the kiss.
Dan had to pinch Jaekyung's nipple to remind the athlete that they have an entire night to do this.
“Ouch!” Jaekyung could feel heat gushing to his lower half as Dan teased his chest. Jaekyung poured shower gel into his hand and started lathering himself.
Dan's a small man, it didn’t take much time but Jaekyung had a tough time reaching his back, his injury was the culprit here.
“Would you mind?” Dan ran his fingers along Jaekyung's spine.
“I don't mind.” Jaekyung groaned as Dan started to work on his back. His slender fingers touched his scars. He traced its length and hugged Jaekyung from behind. “It must have hurt you so much.”
Jaekyung could feel Dan's warm breath on his back as he spoke. “It did but there was something on my mind that kept me going..”
“You are going to say it's me..” Dan kissed the back of Jaekyung’s shoulder. He tiptoed and started kissing the back of Jaekyung's neck. With each kiss Jaekyung was losing control, he wanted To make love to Dan then and there. But a single slip on the bathroom and he is going to prolong this recovery time.
“I think we have washed enough.. let's take this to the bedroom..” He groaned when Dan sucked the back of his neck leaving a mark.
Dan was not sure what had gotten into him tonight. He was being bold and he was talking more. He felt like he was talking to someone equal not a reigning MMA champion. Jaekyung made him feel like that, Dan knew people change during such accidents but to witness it was a surreal experience. From not wanting to touch him to reacting like a person in to his simple kisses, Jaekyung has come a long way.
Jaekyung turned around and looked at Dan, “You said we have an entire night and you do this.. unfair. Let me help you loosen up a bit Doc” Jaekyung looked so cute with his hair down, he was grinning ear to ear.. Dan turned the shower off and said, “You are right. Let's go..” he didn't expect what was awaiting him.
They walked towards the bed. Dan taking charge of this entire thing is what made this a lot more special to Jaekyung. Dan's body was still wet. Everytime he took a step, drops of water pooled near the curve of his butt. His skin was glowing and the best part is the sweet scent of Dan mixed with his body shower was engulfing his senses.
“Don't ruin it.. don't be rough… Control you stupid beast..” Jaekyung was channeling strength not to go rough today by making a mental note.
The moment they reached bed, Dan collapsed on it pulling Jaekyung along with him. Dan missed him so much, he loved being hugged, the feeling of being pressed into the soft mattress, the weight of Jaekyung on him and the warmth they shared.
Jaekyung buried his head into the nape of Dan’s slender neck. He nuzzled into the curve of his neck and gave him tender kisses on both sides. Dan hugged Jaekyung closer, his fingers gripping the hair on the back of his head. Jaekyung nibbled the skin near his Adam's apple leaving a mark. His hands teased Dan's nipples. He rolled the pink buds with his thumb, gently grazed the skin around. Dan started moaning into his ears while Jaekyung gently bit Dan's sensitive ear.
Dan pulled Jaekyung's hair, the boxer lifted his head up. Dan's face was beat red; he was breathing heavily. Though Jaekyung was practically grinding their lower halves all this time, he failed to realize that Dan already came. The sticky fluid formed a layer on both their lower halves.
“I didn't get time to prepare..” Dan managed to say some words despite being in complete euphoria. He arched his back when he felt Jaekyung's warm tongue kissing his love hole.
By the time Dan could react to any of it, Jaekyung pulled Dan closer and started sucking the skin around it. Dan start to shudder in pleasure when Jaekyung started using his tongue to relax the area around his butt hole.

"You are in pain, aren't you?" Dan knew Jaekyung's body better than him. "I told you to relax and don't make it into such big deal."
"It's this shoulder.." Jaekyung didn't look at Dan's face.
"We can try it next time Jaekyung. Relax.." Jaekyung looked at him like a puppy. He smiled and handed him the box of tissues.
They both cleaned up after some time and cuddled to sleep in each other's embrace. Dan woke up in the middle of the night for water. If it was like before Jaekyung would have already left tucking him right in the middle of the bed with a blanket on.
But he couldn't even move because Jaekyung literally trapped him with a hand around his waist, not letting him go even in his sleep. When he tried to wriggle out, he pulled him closer and mumbled, “Don't leave me Dan..” with a hint of sadness mixed in.
Dan turned towards Jaekyung and hugged him, he didn't want to wake him up. He slowly dozed off listening to Jaekyung’s heartbeat as if it was a lullaby.
The next morning when Dan woke up, Jaekyung was already up but didn't leave his side. He was examining him like a subject under a microscope.
“Stop staring at me like that..” Dan pouted.
“I can't help it..” Jaekyung shrugged and reached out to his mobile. Dan woke up and stretched his arms out of the blanket. He sat up on the edge of the bed, he checked his mobile.
“Oh no..” Dan sounded worried.
“What happened?” Jaekyung inched towards him.
“ I think you don't know but Yoon-Gu and Heesung broke up a week ago. But Heesung hasn't clearly moved on though it was him who wanted to break up.” He showed him the video Daehyun recorded and shared in group chat.
Drunk heesung was slamming the door of Yoon-Gu's room in Team Black quarters. There weren't many people around. It was just Daehyun, Changmin and Coach Yosep thankfully.
“Heesung is a scumbag.” Jaekyung looked at the video one more time and grinned.
“Let him beg for forgiveness. Though Yoon-Gu is the youngest of us, he is very intuitive. He will deal with this idiot much better than any of us.” Jaekyung suppressed a laugh imagining the scenarios.
Dan told him, “I want to visit grandma today. Will you be able to manage? I promise I will be here by Afternoon.”
“I want to tag along. I want to know how she is doing.” Jaekyung replied immediately. “Only if it is not a problem for you.”
“I don't mind, in fact she keeps asking about your condition. She is a huge fan of yours. Don't know what you told her the last time you visited, she keeps asking about your well being.”
“That's a secret.. hehe.” He chuckled but also felt a sting in his heart because he didn't exactly keep his promise to granny.
They both freshed up and left for the hospital. Dan did the driving which was different from the usual routine. Dan's driving was actually very good.
“You drive so good.”
“I used to be a driver during my service..” Dan replied, checking the cars following them from the rear mirror adjusting it to his height and angle.
“I don't know anything about you..” Jaekyung thought he was thinking but he said it loud.
“Don't worry.. we both have no knowledge of our pasts.” he honked on the horn and brought the car to a halt.
“We both have so much time, so why don't we learn a thing or two about each other's lives from today. It does not have to mean anything.”
Dan and Jaekyung both walked into the Hospital. They were greeted by a chirpy happy doctor as soon as they entered.
“You didn't tell me! I am a huge fan!” The doctor looked excited.
“Jaekyung, this is Dr. Shin Seo. Dr.Seo this is oh.. I don't think we need to introduce him.” Dan smiled.
“Dr.Seo, great to meet you.” Jaekyung looked at the man in front of him. He must be classmates with Dan. Dan gave him a look, a stern one like signaling him to go away.
To be honest the dynamic between these was similar to him and Namwook. “I totally misunderstood.” Jaekyung thought.
“Hey,while you two friends are catching up, let me go meet grandma.” Jaekyung excused. No one can deny there was a jump in his step as he walked into the hallway.
Jaekyung knocked on the door, the nurse attended looked surprised.
“So you were not kidding.” The nurse in his twenties was in for a shock when he entered. He knew he was famous and good-looking but seeing him in reality was a whole another deal.
When Dan entered the room all he could see was a male nurse ogling at Jaekyung. Grandma and Jaekyung seemed to be in a deep conversation and didn't know their surroundings.
Dan wasn't sure what irked him more. The male nurse who was cracking bad jokes or oblivious big man who was laughing at that joke.
Dan entered and sighed, “So..” He said loudly trying to grab attention of the people in the room. “Good News is that the treatment is working.” He walked towards grandma and sat on the opposite side of bed facing Jaekyung and his grandmother.
He wasn't doing it intentionally but the way he sat will block the view of the male nurse. The trio continued chatting, after a while Dan looked around, the nurse was not in the room.
“Are you searching for the nurse?” Jaekyung questioned Dan.
“No..” The most annoying part of that question was Jaekyung having the knowledge of someone else presence.
‘Am I being particularly childish. That nurse is so his type. I bet if I wasn't in the picture he would have approached him.’
Jaekyung informed, “ He left to bring the medicines and meal. He signaled me while we were talking.”
Dan looked at him with a poker face. “Good to know.. “
“Meds and meals for you granny..” the nurse sounded very happy. He was so different from him, Dan compared. He was tall with long legs. He wasn't as pale as him, he had a very healthy color on cheeks.
Jaekyung thanked the young nurse who helped grandma and also gave him an autograph. To be honest, this wasn't anything different from what a regular fan does but he wasn't okay with this. Dan left the room first as he wasn't sure why he was so annoyed at all this.
Jaekyung apologized to granny that he made Dan worry and promised her he will always keep him happy.
“Dan may say he is OK with being alone but trust me boy, he is so needy. He can't be alone, so don't leave his side.” Grandma reminded Jaekyung the words she said last time but she also added, “Though he may not say this to you, I think Dan likes you just as much as you like him.” Grandma squeezed the boxer’s hand and shot a ‘I Know it!’ smile.
Jaekyung blushed a little and smiled back. He didn't know how things would go so he didn't say anything as a reply. He simply nodded and walked his way out.
Before Jaekyung could enter the car, a swarm of journalists hovered around him.
“Mr.Joo, why did you visit a hospital?”
“Mr.Joo I heard you can't play anymore, Is it true?
“Jaekyung, who do you call your successor?”
“We heard you are closing Team Black Gym, is it true?”
Jaekyung could feel his head spinning. These questions were hard hitting reality which he was avoiding. Dan who was occupied with his own thoughts, looked at the media reporters.
Jaekyung was mirroring him, Dan could see Jaekyung's confidence being shaken to the core. He knew that feeling. It is dark and intimidating, he also know how to come out of it. It was Jaekyung who taught him how to deal with it. The tour in USA was special, he learned how good it feels to know that he is not alone. He has someone to lean on. Now it is his time to step up. He decided to help Jaekyung and pull him out of that situation.
He got up and made his way to the centre of the crowd, right beside Jaekyung and looked at him. He smiled a little assuring him that he is here to help. He looked at the reporters and started answering their questions without a stutter. He looked confident and cool.
“Mr. Joo is not visiting the hospital for treatment. A fan of his wished for him to visit her and he kindly accepted.”
“It is for him and his team of doctors to decide whether he could play or not. Do not pressure him on such a sensitive issue.”
“If Jaekyung finds someone as talented as him, he will definitely come forward and give his title. We are playing sports and it is a fact that there will always be a better person who will replace you.”
“Team Black as of now is completely operational. We have the best team of athletes and it's just not a gym, it is the future of MMA. It is not going to shut down, if there are any plans we will let you know.”
“Oh! If you want to know who I am? I am Kim Dan, Physical Therapist at Team Black Gym.”
He answered all the questions without breaking a sweat. He looked at Jaekyung who was suppressing a grin.
“You heard from the man..” the worry that was clouding his mind like a thick fog disappeared when he saw the silhouette of Dan. He smiled and waved a hand at the media and hopped into the car.
The reporters left writing the answers and soon the parking area was as peaceful as it was before.
